HQ: Orlando, FL NOW PLAYING: Transmit Now EP (myspace.com/transmitnow) THE STORY SO FAR: If you watched this year's MTV VMAs, you've heard Transmit Now's "Tarantism (Let's Go Out Tonight)." Frontman Andy Brooks, guitarists Daniel Stoner and Kevin Parrow, bassist Lee Gianou, and drummer Greg Parrow began work on their first EP last October with the help of producers Pete Thornton (Paramore, Between The Trees) and Brooks Paschal (former vocalist for Sullivan). The band then made their live debut on this past summer's Warped Tour. WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: "To quote that 'stranger' your parents told you never to talk to when you were a kid, 'We'll give you candy,'" promises Brooks. "Sure, it's a bit of a bait-and-switch, but what could possibly be better than candy and rock 'n' roll?" A punk-rock work ethic and a love for their music is what Brooks says sets Transmit Now apart from the rest of the /power-pop crowd. "Oh, and our moms think we're talented." YOU LIKE?
