Isles & Glaciers reveal EP cover art, release date

Isles & Glaciers--the supergroup featuring Craig Owens, Vic and Mike Fuentes of Pierce The Veil, Jonny Craig of Emarosa, Matt Goddard of Chiodos, Brian Southall of the Receiving End Of Sirens and Nick Martin of Underminded--will release their debut EP, The Hearts Of Lonely People on March 9. The EP was recorded in 10 days with producer Casey Bates in Seattle. The band have only performed together once--at AP's 2009 South By Southwest showcase. (Check out video below.)

Martin had this to say about the EP: "We got together as friends and just did what was natural to us--we wrote and played music. Eventually it turned into songs that we were all really excited about and just wanted to share."

The EP will be sold through all online retailers and physical copies will be available exclusively at Hot Topic.

The Strokes begin recording new album

In November, the Strokes announced their first show since 2006 and now the band have revealed that they are recording a new album with producer Joe Chiccarelli at Avatar Studios in New York City.

The lineup for this summer's Bonnaroo Festival is taking shape featuring the likes of Weezer, Manchester Orchestra, OK Go, the Dropkick Murphys and more. They'll join acts like Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Kings Of Leon, the Dave Matthews Band, the Flaming Lips (covering Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon), Jeff Beck and more. The three-day festival is set to take place June 10 to 13 in Manchester, Tennessee.

Rumors of Brand New's hiatus "not true"

A story has been circulating online today that Brand New are preparing to go on indefinite hiatus after the album cycle for their latest full-length, Daisy, has ended. But after reached for comment, the band's publicist says the story is "not true."

Manchester Orchestra to record "broad and big" album in June

Manchester Orchestra frontman Andy Hull recently revealed in an interview that the band will begin recording their next album in June and that he has big plans for it. "It's going to be different, really beautiful and wide--not wide stylistically, more like it's gonna be broad and big," he said. "I really want the hair to be standing up on your arms for the whole record--that's kind of my goal."

The album will be MO's third full-length, following up last year's Mean Everything To Nothing, which garnered a five-star review from AP. They've also just been confirmed as playing this summer's Bonnaroo Festival.

Rise Against, Deftones, Coheed, Anberlin to play Rock On The Range

The lineup for the 2010 Rock On The Range festival has been announced. Taking place May 22 and 23 at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, the bill will feature Rise Against, Deftones, Coheed And Cambria, Anberlin, Escape The Fate, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Helmet, Bullet For My Valentine and others among the fest's more dubious and/or godawful headliners. (Limp Bizkit, Godsmack and Three Days Grace, anyone?)

Weekend passes are $99.50 with a pre-sale starting Feb. 16. The full lineup is below.
