MTV News has nominated Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz for Man Of The Year and Paramore's Hayley Williams for Woman Of The Year.
It should be noted that the nominees were selected based on "who have dominated the 2008 headlines." Consequently, other names include Nick Jonas, T.I. and T-Pain on the men's side and Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Rihanna on the ladies'. More nominees will be unveiled later this week.

We The Kings have announced a healthily stocked lineup for a month-long tour early next year. They'll be accompanied by the Maine, the Cab, There For Tomorrow and VersaEmerge.
We The Kings issued a self-titled full-length on S-Curve last year. The Maine is supporting this year's Can't Stop, Won't Stop on Fearless. The Cab released Whisper War earlier this year on Fueled By Ramen. There For Tomorrow have a new-ish self-titled EP out on Hopeless. The Blackout Pact have given some more details on their plans to reunite for a new EP and possibly some shows.
The EP will be released on Eyeball in Spring 2009. They've also announced the first show back, which will be free and take place January 23rd, 2009 at the Old Curtis St. Tavern in Denver, CO. "The reason we are putting this record out is very simple," explained drummer Wisam Alshaibi. "We owed it to our fans, the kids that drove a thousand miles to come see us, the kids that got inked for the rest of their lives with our lyrics, or anybody else that was a part of the pact. The other reason was to satisfy ourselves. Some of the songs on [2006's] Hello Sailor are nearly 4-5 years old. We wanted to satisfy this feeling we all had .We wanted to once and for all show the world who was the absolute best at what we do." The band cited long-standing influences like Hot Water Music, Leatherface, Samiam, the Lawrence Arms, Farside, Small Brown Bike, Hum and Murder City Devils for the recording. They do, however, stress the vagueness of their status: "TBOP is not broken up, is not together, is not in [sic] hiatus, is not pulling stunts." They originally broke up two years ago, with members going onto form Sleeper Horse and Only Thunder. |

Fall Out Boy and a group of fans arrived at Washington Square Park in New York City for an impromptu "jam session" today, only to be forbidden to play their instruments due to not having the proper paperwork.
Not wanting to disappoint the crowd, singer Patrick Stump led the crowd in a singalong version of "Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy". Video of the singalong can be seen below. Fall Out Boy's new release, Folie a Deux, is out tomorrow. |

Paramore was featured in the December 11th episode of CSI: Las Vegas. A concert by the band was featured on the episode as an event that a couple of suspects in a murder investigation attended.
