Hole to release album, play live for the first time in 11 years
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 1/7/10 @ 10:26 AM - altpress.com
Frontwoman Courtney Love has
revealed that Hole will release a new album this spring and announced three European shows--the band's first gigs in more than a decade. Love enlisted three new members to round out the lineup--guitarist Micko Larkin, bassist Shawn Dailey and drummer Stu Fischer--and the full-length,
Nobody's Daughter, is slated to drop this spring.
Hole will be playing London on Feb. 17, followed by Milan on Feb. 19 and Amsterdam on Feb 21.
Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz collaborate on song for Alice In Wonderland soundtrack
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 1/6/10 @ 3:57 PM - altpress.com
After a week of cryptic tweets between
Blink-182 vocalist/bassist Mark Hoppus and
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, Wentz
revealed that the pair have finished a song for the soundtrack to Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of
Alice In Wonderland. According to Wentz, it may not be the end of the partnership. "We did a song for
Alice In Wonderland, [and we] might do a few more depending on when [Hoppus] goes in with Blink," he said. "[It] sounds nothing like Blink or Fall Out Boy. Mark understands songwriting on a completely different level. It's awesome to have a chance to sit in a room with him and watch him work out a melody." However Wentz also put to rest any talk that the duo would be starting a super-group side-project. "It's just fun,"
said Wentz. "It's not a band or even a project at this state. I think between me getting Starbucks on TMZ and him gearing up for a summer of Blink, we have a lot on our hands."
All Time Low also have a song confirmed on the
Alice In Wonderland soundtrack, and the full tracklisting is expected to be released during the following weeks.
