Although Nine Inch Nails have stopped touring and are selling all of their gear on eBay, NIN majordomo Trent Reznor says that doesn't mean the end. Reznor wrote in a news post, "2010 has a number of things planned including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails. I am in a state of rediscovery and reinvention that feels unfamiliar, unsure and exactly what I need."

Singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt dies at 45

Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 12/25/09 @ 6:14 PM - altpress.com

After a day of rumors and speculation about his condition, the New York Times is reporting that singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt died Friday in an Athens, Georgia, hospital. Earlier this week, Chesnutt fell into a coma after overdosing on muscle relaxants. He was 45.

It's a sad end to a life full of turbulation. Chesnutt was left quadriplegic after a car accident when he was 18, but he credited the event for pushing him into music and poetry. R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe discovered Chesnutt in the late '80s and he collaborated with Widespread Panic and Lambchop. He released two albums in 2009, At The Cut and Skitter On Take-Off.

Our sincere condolences to Chesnutt's family and friends during this difficult time.
