The Starting Line to reunite for Philadelphia show this December
Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 11/19/09 @ 12:55 PM - altpress.com
"We all got together for the Somebody's Gonna Miss Us release party last week and decided it would be fun to play a hometown holiday show this year," explains guitarist Matt Watts. "Just to clarify, this doesn't mean TSL are back together and are going to make a record. It simply means that we're taking a break from our break, and wanted to play a fun show in Philadelphia and continue to focus on our lives outside of TSL."
The pop-punk quartet released three full-lengths and originally broke up in 2008. In TSL-related news, frontman Ken Vasoli's new band, Person L, released their sophomore album, The Positives, earlier this week.
Thrice lose guitarist for several shows, possibly entire tour
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 11/19/09 @ 11:25 AM - altpress.com
A message from the band on their website reads: "Teppei had to leave the tour last night due to a family emergency, and will not be playing with us for the next few shows (and possibly the rest of the tour.) We fully understand and support his decision to do so, and hope that you'll be understanding as well. He started this tour knowing that this would be a possibility, and toughed it out for as long as he possibly could. Please send as many positive thoughts as you can muster in his, and his family's direction."
Guest guitarists will be filling in for Teranishi and the band say the tour will continue as planned.

Reports of the demise of Fall Out Boy and the Academy Is... exaggerated
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 11/18/09 @ 12:22 PM - altpress.com
Promotional materials for the Kerrang issue say, "Fall Out Boy give their final interview before they head into hiatus. The band reveal the reasons behind their decision and what it really means for their future. So is this the end for the emo superstars?" Rumors began swirling this past weekend when FOB drummer Andy Hurley tweeted that the band were going on hiatus. When later questioned by fans, Hurley clarified, "everyone, when i said fob was on hiatus, i didnt mean hiatus. i meant break. which is what i understood hiatus to mean."
Just yesterday, Fall Out Boy released their greatest hits compilation, Believers Never Die
The Academy Is... are also weathering similar break-up rumors. Frontman William Beckett responded by saying, "A break from touring to write and record a new album is the new 'hiatus.' There is no hiatus. That is misinformation! Don't fret, just shred." Beckett also talks about the subject in an upcoming AP Podcast.
