New Chiodos singer revealed

For those who caught the tail-end of this past summer's Warped Tour, this won't be the first time you've seen Bolmer step into another frontman's shoes--he filled in for Tyson Stevens when the singer parted ways mid-tour with Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Yesterdays Rising are a post-hardcore outfit from California, and Bolmer is still currently listed as a member, so it's unclear if he will remain with the band as he begins playing with Chiodos.
Bolmer will replace Chiodos' former vocalist, Craig Owens, who parted ways with the band in September.

He somewhat sounds like Brandon Boyd from Incubus. We'll see about this one. Kinda preferred Jerry Roush despite not really being a big fan of SEA.
Kicking out Craig was the worst business decision they could have made. This guy is terrible.
this is my first time hearing this guy, he doesn't sound too bad, but i think jerry roush would've been a better fit

i have been a huge fan of chiodos for a really long time, and even though i was disappointed to hear that they kicked craig out, i still believed in them enough to think that maybe they'd still be good. however, now after i'm hearing brandon bolmer i'm not so sure...i wish craig didn't have so many side projects and would have just focused on chiodos, it was what he was best at.
This kid is an okay singer, but will never be as good or better than Craig Owens. Craig is irreplacable and I know that Chiodos is going to push this new guy into sounding just like him. Craig WAS Chiodos. It's a cop-out to force Bolmer into being the "new Craig" and they would be much better off starting fresh with a new sound and a new band name.
This guy is a better singer and almost a better screamer than Craig. If you say Craig was Chiodos, you were never a real fan.
it's not that craig WAS chiodos, he just made the band click just right. for instance, john frusciante and the chili peppers clicked just right or how ozzy and black sabbath clicked together. the bands still went on without those members but they'll never be as good as when they have the right formula like what chiodos had.
He's not that bad but i just don't see myself being a fan because the lyrics will be so different from Craigs and I think thats what made Chiodos so special. But hey I'll give them a chance I guess.
Welcome to the chiodos expert discussion panel - today's topic: music we've never heard and people we've never met Yall are right, the old chiodos dead. But the new one is going to be way, way better. If you've been in a band and gone through a drummer change, you know how much it can effect your songwriting, especially if the new one is better. Craig fans - he'll have new music out soon. Chiodos fans - you're in for a treat. Thats all.
catastrophe_queen, Craig only wrote a total of 3 songs during his time with Chiodos. Which included 2 albums and 3 EP's. The lyrics will not change.
he is such a better screamer than owens, owens had a sorry excuse for a scream. this guy will pull chiodos out of the hole its been in since it was formed... if thats even possible jajaja
They need to change the name..they arent Chiodos without Craig.
Craig is was the pretty boy of the band with a really good voice. He was the face of Chiodos. Listening to this guy (never heard of Yesterday Rising before) I see that there is some faith still in Chiodos. coramosa, you are right. He really didn't write anything and the songs will not change to drastically with instrumental and lyrics. I do miss Craig, but this maybe for the better. A stronger Chiodos, and Craig being happy with his many side projects
Crazy news. Anyone that hasn't heard/seen Yesterday's Rising, they're pretty good. I def. think it's going to be a nice fit. People are going to talk shit because it's not Craig but they'll eventually end up becoming fans again. Watch the Warped Tour 2004 dvd and you'll be a believer.
I think the voice is good.....it will fit the band well and they'll make some good music......but as for stage presence.....he has NONE....ZERO.....LIVE SHOWS WILL BE HORRIBLE.....which saddens me.....Chiodos had great stage presence....but from what I've seen of this guy.....that's going to change....he just kind of walks around the stage, maybe a couple hops or something.....but its not the presence Craig had.....music will be good I think.....but I won't drive hours to a show like I used to
I think Bolmer will do just fine actually! I saw yesterdays rising live he really gets into his performances "gets rowdy"! haha and vocally I think and I know a lot of you hardcore Chiodos fans are going to hate me for this but I think he has more to offer... I'm very excited to see where their music goes!!! I will purchase the album! best of luck with the new tunes!
alright all you idiots listen up! chiodos has had problems with criag for years now and been wanting to kick him out. if anyone has been in a band and knows how it is to deal with cocky singers you know why. while chiodos was still in highschool brandon was touring warped and touring japan with YR. hes a close friend of mine and has an amazing voice and can fit to any style most of you kids talking shit probably cant even milli vanilli your favorite band. brandon is a beast and was one of the first dudes on warped that started the whole climbing up the stage shit that you see all these new bands trying to rip. he has great stage presence. so until the CD comes out just shut up and get a life
not to mention if it wasnt for YR most of your favorite bands probably wouldnt be a band today. bless the falls influences are YR, Lower D, tons of bands they started it. so i think brandon knows a little thing or two
@markyb86 - first of all....Craig isn't cocky....in fact the rest of the band is more cocky than Craig....I went to Taste of Chaos when they were on it last and Craig stood around to sign stuff even after his alloted time was over....the rest of the band walked off and ignored everyone.....sounds cocky to me..... and second of all....just because Brandon has been around for a while doesn't make him better than newer bands.....why don't we just fill Craig's spot with Mick Jagger then?? I mean he was touring around while Yesterday's rising was ever around... finally, just because bands list influences doesn't mean those bands are directly involved with their start....they just liked them

I find it hilarious that most of the people saying "craig was chiodos" are 15 year old scene girls who obviously know nothing about music. The band had no choice but to kick him out. They can't afford to sit home while Craig had 3 other side projects. Craig always thought of himself as better than the other member of the band. Now he's stuck up Pete Wentz' ass.

Im a good friend of both MarkyB86 and Brandon Bolmer, and have shot both of their bands, as well as 3OH!3, old Chiodos, Thrice...a bunch of shit, way before you even knew what screamo or post hardcore was. MarkyB knows what he is talking about, and Brandon is an amazing singer, front man and individual. If you saw him covering at the last Warped for SCSC's, you wouldnt have a damn thing to argue about it. I have the pics to prove it, and he deserves this more than anything.

The great thing is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But these bitches talking shit on the internet strangely have no impact on the decisions of the bands. So save your words for something a little more useful. I have been a fan of Yesterday Rising since they started. I played many shows with his band, and the progression that Brandon has developed is amazing. So CONGRATULATIONS to you Brandon. All this shit will be proven wrong when you hit that stage. So until then, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!
