The turnaround seems like it may be fairly quick considering the band released their self-titled major label debut in May 2008. |

HAWKS AND DOVES (CURRENT/EX-MEMBERS OF HOT WATER MUSIC, PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS) SET TO RECORDPosted by Brian Shultz on 05-Jan-09 @ 04:55 PM
Hawks And Doves, a new project featuring former Planes Mistaken For Stars frontman Gared O'Donnell, current Hot Water Music and the Draft drummer George Rebelo and bassist/guitarist Chad Darby of Averkiou, have unveiled plans to enter the studio on January 14th to track their nine-song debut full-length.
"It's inevitable that this project will get its share of comparisons to Planes and that's fair {being I sing/play git/write the songs}," cautions O'Donnell, "but I must say in regard to that it's shaping up to be kind of photo negative of a Planes LP." The as-yet-untitled album is set for an April release on No Idea, following up last year's limited 7", The Hush Money. (Oddly enough, minor research finds a defunct Denver-based band of the same name, and though Planes Mistaken For Stars originated in Denver, one seemingly shouldn't confuse the two.)
